The best thing about the University of Chicago is its subtle inconspicuousness. The ivy leagues and big select schools all have a stereotype/reputation it holds in the public eye that is difficult to live up to. Go to Harvard? Oh, you must be the smartest person ever! Go to UC Berkeley, MIT? You must be the greatest genius the world has ever seen. But when U Chicago is mentioned, most people find it difficult to generalize the institution as anything outside of “top university” or “prestigious school.” This is because while universities at the forefront of media attention are some of the best in the United States, such overexposure lends itself to negative connotations that cannot be escaped.
I myself knew little about U Chicago, but soon came to realize how great knowing little could actually be in the grand scheme of things.
Everything starts with the amazing education system U Chicago prides itself on. Core Curriculum allows for students to really engage in critical thinking with an expanded view of the world and how it works. Students at U Chicago are not there for the perceived prestige or bonus points you get from attending a top university, they’re there to learn, and not just learn for the final exam and forget. They are there to learn and continue to use their gained knowledge as they expound upon it throughout their journey through schooling and life.
In high school and in my time taking community college courses, I haven’t been exposed to these types of students. People take courses just to put a check mark on the list, and I have been doing the same because it’s what required and it’s all I’ve ever known. There was never an opportunity to take specialized courses and as a result, my classmates’ zeal for knowledge acquisition has never been awakened. Though I try to satisfy my curiosities through articles and books, there was never anyone to discuss it with in depth without one of us leaving frustrated.
Though I plan to major in a Neuroscience-related program as a pre-medical student, I want to be able to learn new languages, Norwegian mythology, the situation of public health; anything that has piqued my interests for multiple years but remained untouched due to circumstances. I like that U Chicago forbids students from taking courses solely for their major and requires them to spend a large portion of their time in the Core Curriculum in order to make this happen.
Instead of dealing with constant pressure from society, students at U Chicago are free to pursue their passions without fear of judgment or stereotype. With the focus on education where it belongs, the overall atmosphere at the institution is laid-back and does not add stress to the rigorous course load.
A secret utopia of sorts, U Chicago sets an invincible foundation that will exponentially increase the vitality of a person in any field of work or practice and I want to be a part of that.

Introduction
My school’s is a government primary school located in the outskirts of the city. Usually, when people think about a government school, they perceive it to be at an isolated location and having poor basic amenities and teaching facilities. But, despite being a government school, my school defies all such speculations.
My School’s Amenities
I am proud of all the basic amenities that it provides keeping in mind the requirements of its students and staff. My school has separate toilets for boys, girls and staff. The toilets are regularly cleaned twice daily by the cleaning staff. Moreover, there is also clean drinking water facility for students.
The support staff and teachers of my school take care of every student and their needs. Each and every student is personally attended and made feel like at home.
Social Objectives/Services of My School
Apart from regular classes, my school is also involved in various social activities. We regularly organize programs in nearby villages to promote education and make people more aware of the importance of education. We along with our teachers, persuade people to send their children to school, be it a boy or a girl. We have been successful in our effort so far and have made the nearby villages 100% literate. We also distribute books and other school items to the children from economically backward families. We also take part in various other campaigns like polio drop, beti bachao beti padhao and right to education etc.
My school is a wonderful place where I learn not only the essential subjects, but also some of the realities and skills of life. I learn about the problems of our society and also how can I help overcome them and contribute to the progress of the society and the nation as well.

These are some of the most essential personality traits that my school imparts in me, something that I will always be thankful for.
My school is a temple of education, but it is also a place where my personality is shaped and I become humane. Education and personality development are the two very essential qualities that my school provides me, transforming me into someone who could fruitfully contribute to the society.

Moreover, not a moment I remember, when any teacher had ever replied rudely to any of the students. They always patiently listen and provide answer for all the queries posed to them. Learning at my school is fun and it is made possible only because of the teachers.
Importance of My School in My Life
My school is very important in my life, in a way even more than my family. My family gives me love, care, affection and provides for my all other essential needs. But, all of this isn’t enough to make me a good human being and succeed in life. The most essential prerequisite for success in life is education, and only my school provides it to me. Without my school and the education that it gives, I would be like a confused and wandering soul, almost aimless in life.
Fortunately, I am lucky enough to be enrolled in a prestigious school and gaining wonderful education, looking forward to realize my dreams one day.
My school is a place where my life gets its meaning and I develop mentally, physically and educationally every day. Imagining my life without my school would be like looking at a grim tragedy face to face. No school and no education would leave my life meaningless and my body without a soul. To sum it up, my feelings about my school are more or less the same as I feel about my family. Just a bit more meaningful than the family.

Schools are known to be where you have to sit for long hours, moving from one period to another and doing class works. Happily, my school activities involve much more than subjective studies. Of course we do have regular classes but beside that we also have a load of other activities like sports, games, dancing, music etc. There is a specific time dedicated to the extracurricular activities.
As much as on the studies, my school also stresses much on these activities as the management thinks that the extracurricular activities are very essential for our overall personality development.
My school provides dedicated teachers and staff for each extracurricular activity. We have a big sports ground with kits for all the major sports; a covered auditorium for dance and music and a separate basket ball court.
Personality Development at My School
My school helps in my educational and overall personality development. It imparts education through classes, tests and exams; teaches me how to conduct myself confidently; teaches me how to deal with adversities and failures etc.
I make friend at school, those whom I will never forget and will always love them. My family supports my materialistic needs, but school is the place where my actual physical, social and mental development takes place.
My school is the most important place of my life where I spend almost all productive hours of my every day. My family gives me food, clothes, money and other essentials, but school is the place where my body meets its soul and makes the life more meaningful.

Holi, traditionally known as Holika, is considered to be the ‘festival of colours (holikautsav)’. Believed to have originated before the birth of Christ, Holi enjoys mention in several early scriptures as well as mythological tales. Till now, no one has truly found the ‘perfect interpretation’ of this festival. But according to popular understanding, Holi denotes the triumph of good over evil. This idea plays well into the context of Lord Vishnu assassinating the younger brother of demon lord, Hiranyakashipu. My school : First learning place
My school is my pride. We have very good teachers and students in our school. Our playground is very big, and we play many games, like football, cricket, and kabaddi.
My school is like my second home. I, my friends, and my teachers are my families. It is my first learning place, where I am taught to be a good human. We study many subjects like maths, science, English, and environmental studies here.
I go to my school every day and learn new things. My teachers are very helpful in teaching us. Our classroom is very big. It has a blackboard, table chair for the teacher and bench with desks for us.
We have a computer lab and a library as well. Our computer lab has many computers. Our library is an ocean of books, and all kinds of books can be found here. School is the place where I stay for more than half of the day, and I like staying here like a family with my friends.

Now, as I’m going to write a short essay about my first day of school, I think of January 5, 2003. That was my first day at school. I was so excited that day thinking of school. My parents introduced me to the alphabet at home and bought me new clothes, shoes, and a bag. That’s how I got ready to start my school life.
I went to school holding my father’s hand. Dad took me to the headmaster’s room first. I offer him Salam and he replied with a smile. Then he asked me my name and a few questions, and I answered. He then wrote down my admission information and sent me to my class with the clerk.
In the first class, the teacher told us funny stories. Within a few days, I got my classmates as my friends. The day I went to school for the first will shine in my memory forever.

Introduction: The day a student first goes to school is a memorable day for him. He starts a new chapter of his life on that day. With so much excitement and a little fear, I set foot in a school the first day. That is what I’m going to say here.
Fear of new places: The first day when dad took me to my village primary school, I was very excited and a little worried about how a new place, new friends, and teachers would be. However, my fears did not last long and I easily adjusted myself.
Preparation and Admission: I was preparing myself for going to school on the first day. Mom said I would enjoy my school. To go to school on the first day, I got up early, took a bath, and put on new clothes. Head Sir greeted me with a smile and gave me a set of new books.
Relationships with Friends: I saw a lot of new faces in the classroom. They also welcomed me and became my friends in a short time.
Introduction to Teachers: We had a total of five classes on the first day at school. In the first class, the teachers introduced us and told us funny stories instead of teaching books. I liked all of them very much.
Conclusion: My first day at school was the biggest event and the brightest memory of my life. This is the day I took the first step towards a beautiful life.

Our life is a combination of many events and experiences. But not everything is remembered for a long time. However, some events can never be forgotten. My first day at school was such a memorable day.
It was January 1, 2000. That day my father took me to our village primary school. My school name is Chhanbari Govt. Primary School. It took me a while to find myself in the new environment of the school compound for the first time. My father took me to the headmaster’s room. My heart started beating fast. The headmaster asked me my name and some more simple questions and I answered them.
He then sent me to my class with the clerk. There I see a lot of students like me. They were strangers to me. But it didn’t take long for them to become my friends.
After a while, our first teacher entered. He first wanted to know the names of all of us. Then he said some very funny jokes. He explained to us what the mother tongue is, why it is necessary to learn, how our language is a big language in the world. We realized that he was our Bangla teacher. Three more teachers came to our class that day. They looked smiling. I like all of them.
Thus, going to school on the first day started a new chapter in my life. I think my first day at school was the most memorable day of my life. The experience of this day will remain evergreen in my mind.

Description: It was the first day at school. I went to school very simply. The day was very interesting to me because I felt much pleasure to get education again after the break of the class 5 examination. It was my new school. According to our religious tradition, I left for school on the first day with good wishes from my parents .
Old and New Faces: I met many old classmates and many new faces there. I made several new friends, too. There was a lot of gossips. We also took down the class routine from the notice board to our notebooks. That day I recognized some new ideas of learning. Those were quite different from primary education.
The Classes: I entered my classroom along with other students joyfully. First, our English teacher entered our classroom. He tried to make us understand the importance of learning English with many practical examples. After him, the Bengali teacher entered and lectured on Bangla. He made jokes. It gave us pleasure.
The Recess: We enjoy ourselves during recess. I went to the common room with some of my friends and played indoor games for a while. Then I went to the school canteen with one of my best friends and ate Singaras and chocolates.
Conclusion: The first day at school was full of happy feelings. It gave me excitement and romance. I felt thrilled because I could learn many things of knowledge in school. Still, I remember my first day at school.

It was one day some six years ago that I first attended school as a regular student. But I still remember that day I felt as if it happened only yesterday.
I still remember the day my parents decided to send me to school. I was not at all happy on the morning when I was being dressed for school for the first time. Mother brushed my hair, dressed me in, and sent me to school with my father .
My father took me to the headmaster. My heart was beating fast. The headmaster looked at me, smiled, and said, “so, you are the son of my dear pupil and now you are going to be my pupil too.” I politely replied, “yes sir”. My reply seemed to please him. He then asked me a few questions from my books and I promptly answered them all. I was admitted into class one.
When my father left me at school to attend classes, I found myself all alone. There were so many boys and classmates. But they were all strangers to me. When the bell rang, our class teacher entered. We all stood up. Hardly had I taken my seat when my teacher put me a question. I got afraid and stood dumbfounded. My classmates laughed and I got more nervous.
I felt excited about the new school environment. The teachers taught us with love and with a smile. They have left a deep impression on my young mind.
During recess, while other boys played, I simply, looked on. I did not even eat the tiffin that my mother had given me. I was thinking of her and of my home all the time. At the end of school, I ran home and told my mother all that had happened in the school.
But it didn’t take long for my school to become my favorite place. Those who were strangers at my first meet soon became my best friends . I left there five years of my childhood. The golden memory of going to school on the first day will remain in my heart forever.

Dressed in new clothes, I walked to school holding my father ‘s hand. Dad first took me to the school headmaster’s room. He smiled and asked my name. He then called the class teacher and sent me to my class. I was amazed to see so many children like me in class. They got along well with me. Within a few days, everyone became known and friends to me. They were my classmates, my playmates. I still miss them. I will never forget the memories of my first day at school.

When I was a child, my elder brother used to go to school every day. I asked him to take me too, but my mother would not let me. So, I got upset. Then at the age of five, one day my father said it was time to go to school. It made me so happy and excited. Mom got me ready and I went with my Dad to my village primary school at 9 am. The headmaster asked me my name and a few questions, and I answered him. Then he called his clerk and sent me to my classroom. I found thirty boys and girls of my age there. I got to know my class teacher and classmates. They all greeted me with smiles. When the class was over, I went back home with a new experience of life. I won’t forget my first day of school ever.

The day I went to school for the first time was a memorable day in my life. Then I was a six-year-old boy. My parents decided to enroll me in Motijheel Ideal School. It’s a reputed school in Dhaka . I would go to school and study, I was very excited to think about it. One morning my mother prepared me for school. He gave me a new dress. Before I left for school for the first time in my life, I was worried about new places and new people. The school was not far from our home . I walked holding my father’s hand. Within minutes we reached the school. My father introduced me to the headmaster. He asked me my name and a few other questions and was happy to hear my answer. He completed my admission process. Then a teacher took me to the classroom and introduced me to my classmates. Seeing so many new faces, I got a little nervous at first. But everyone in the classroom was very friendly. They treated me well on my first day of school. So, it didn’t take me long to get along with everyone. Even on the first day, I became friends with some of them. Dad was waiting for me at the school gate. As soon as the last bell rang, I ran to my father. When I returned home, my mother hugged me. The day I went to school for the first time has been unforgettable in my life.

My school name is New Horizon Public School, New Delhi. It is very near to my home. I go to my school with my elder brother and other friends. My school has a beautiful double storey building. There are 12 rooms in our school. My school rooms are wide, cool and airy. I study in grade 1.

Apart from that, the students of my school also take part in other academic and sports competitions against the other schools.
My school values sincerity, honesty, dedication and good manners. It focuses the overall development of students. All the students are treated very kindly. In fact, we all feel this school as we second home. Students of various backgrounds and different ages study here with great mutual cooperation and care.
My school is one of the best schools in terms of educating and training the students with good manners. The schools have really a great role in creating a well behaving and law abiding citizens for country. School are the real training grounds for a nations. I am greatly proud of my school. My school is a place where I get educated; learn new subjects under the guidance of trained and skilled teachers. I study at a school that is near my home. It is one of the best schools in my entire town. The management of my school believes that it isn’t only academic excellence that we should be after, but also the overall personality development and evolving into a good and useful human being.
The school has two playgrounds – one is a tennis court and the other one is a cricket ground. We also have a nice swimming pool and a canteen. It also has a beautiful garden where students relax and play during recess. Even in games, sports and tournaments, it has made much progress. My school has won many trophies, shields, and medals in many extra-curricular activities. In debates also, the students of my school secure good positions. It is considered to be one of the best schools in my locality.

The school is called the educational institution which is designed to provide learning spaces and create an environment for the children where the teaching of the students is under the direction and guidance of the teachers.
My School is one of the best educational institutions where I get an education and make progress towards the goals of my life and make me capable of achieving them. Besides education, there are several significant roles that my school plays in my life. My school is performing well in all fields. It develops my physical and mental stamina, instills confidence, and
gives me tremendous opportunities to prove my skills and talents in different fields. In the academic field, it has made a mark. Its students secure top positions in the board examinations.
I go to school with my other friends. We study in our school in a great friendly environment. We reach school at a fixed time. As soon as we reach we line up to attend the assembly. Attending the school assembly is a wonderful experience. I enjoy for being first in a row in a school assembly. As soon as the assembly ends we rush to our respective classrooms. We take part in all school activities. One of my school fellows is the best singer and dancer. She has recently won the best singer award at the annual arts festival. Our school organizes all-important national events like Independence Day, teachers’ day, father’s day, etc. My school also gives every student abundant opportunities to take part in extracurricular activities like sports and music.
All of us are proud of being a part of it. I am fortunate enough to be a student at this school. I love and am proud of my school.

The Annual Prize Day Ceremony is the best of all. The educations authorities are highly satisfied with our school. I am proud of it. It is one’s first and foremost duty to respect one’s school.

The school has its own canteen where some enactable like cold drinks, tea, coffee, burger are always available at affordable rates.
We have a big library filled with many kinds of books which students can take home for further references just for two days. Besides, there is a proper cycle stand where the teacher and students can park their cycles, scooters and bikes. An attendant is there who looks after the vehicles. Our teachers teach us to obey and respect our teachers and elders. After school, there is a special class for weak students.
School organise various activities and function round the year. The annual prize day ceremony is the best of all. I am proud of my school and it is one’s first and foremost duty to respect one’s school.
