Water is a natural gift given to us by nature. Drinking water regularly in daily basis is the best way we can give to our bodies. Some of us drink it when we are thirsty and some of us drink it when we are fully hydrated. The surprising thing is that there are some people who don’t like drinking water at all. In facts, we need water to keep our health no matter who we are. The importance of drinking water for our bodies is paramount to our health, because it makes up to 70 percent of our bodies’ weight. There are four fulfilling benefits of drinking water to our bodies, such as it can speed up our metabolisms, make our skins healthier, lose our weight, and stay alert.
The first benefit of drinking water is it can speed up our metabolisms. Increased hydration levels have an effect of increasing the blood volume. The increased of blood volume helps the transport of oxygen to our bodies’ cells. It also facilitates the transport of waste out the cells. If our cells are hydrated properly, our metabolisms will be optimal. The more water we consume, the more efficient our cells can work.
The next benefit is it can make our skins healthier. Drinking water can help our skins healthier, refreshed, and radiant for sure. Our skins will look unhealthy when the toxins are remained in our bodies. The role of water here is to flush the toxins away out of our bodies. Our skins need a lot of water to stay hydrated and supple, so we have to make sure that we drink enough water each day. We need to drink water for about 8 – 10 glasses in a day in order to keep our skins healthy.
The third benefit is water can lose our weight. When we are in a diet or fitness program, there is a suggestion that we have to drink a lot of water. Water can help us to suppress our appetite, so we don’t eat as much as usual. Drinking water also helps our bodies to burn the fat in our bodies, and so our weight can be reduced. Some people say that drinking 15 liters of water in a day can help in losing our weight drastically. By the loss of our fat in our bodies, we can be healthier because some diseases caused by the fat will be avoided.
Finally, water can make us stay alert and focus. When we are properly hydrated, the circulation in our body will be good. By the fact, our brains are made up 85 percent of water, so we have to stay hydrated to help our brains. If our brains are properly hydrated, it will keep the mood fresh and active. People who drink less water often feel bored and less enthusiastic. Meanwhile, people who drink more water are really energetic and full of zeal. It also helps our bodies in relieving the fatigue of the body.
In conclusion, drinking water is a very important thing to our bodies’ health. Not only human, but also all of the organisms need water to survive. The importance of drinking water for our bodies is paramount to our health, because it makes up to 70 percent of our bodies’ weight. There are four fulfilling benefits of drinking water to our bodies, such as it can speed up our metabolisms, make our skins healthier, lose our weight, and stay alert. So, we have to consume water as much as we can to keep our body in a good condition.

The formal unit for conductivity is siemens per metre (S/m), however microsiemens per centimetre (μS/cm) is more commonly used when measuring fresh or brackish waters, and millisiemens per centimetre (mS/cm) when measuring estuarine and marine waters. EC varies with temperature, and values reported are usually corrected to 25°C. Such data are known as Specific Conductance. A difference of 5°C can alter conductivity by approximately 10%. Many conductivity instruments have compensation functions so that EC at 25°C can be read directly (verify by checking the instruments manual).
Total dissolved solids (TDS) include total dissolved salts but also non-ionised species (e.g. sugars, other organics and colloidal particles). Therefore , “TDS values are often larger than total dissolved salt values for the same water sample “. Total dissolved solids are either determined by filtering a water sample, evaporating a weighed amount of filtrate to dryness in a weighed dish, drying to a constant weight , and determining the increased mass of the dish .
In drinking water hardness is mainly contributed by bicarbonates , carbonates , sulphates and chlorides of calcium and magnesium . So , the principal hardness causing ions are calcium and magnesium . The acceptable limit of total hardness is 300 mg/L whereas the maximum limit is 600 mg/L . Hardness can classified water as soft , moderate , hard and very hard . As per this classification most of the samples comes under moderate to hard category . On the basis of this classification it has been observed that no water samples are soft but all the measured values were within the acceptable limit values of BIS (300 mg/L) and WHO (500 mg/L) .

Fluoride concentrations above 1.5 ppm in drinking water cause dental fluorosis and much higher concentration skeletal fluorosis. Low concentration (approximately 0.5 ppm) provides protection against dental caries.

It is present in tap water to some extent as a result of its dissolution from natural sources but primarily from household plumbing systems in which the pipes, solder, fittings, or service connections to homes contain lead . Lead is a cumulative general poison and associated with several health hazards like anemia (Moore. 1988),[10] reproductive effects (Wildt et al . 1983)[11] (Cullen et al . 1984).[12]

If we have safe and clean water for drinking , we’ll live healthy and prosper. The clean water we drink and which is germless is called potable water. The water we drink in our homes, is supplied by the municipal community. We think that it is safe and germs free but in reality it is not fully safe for using in household works and also for drinking , for the reason that it is filtered in huge tanks ; the big particles and comparatively small particles are filtered but not purified .
So we should ensure that we purify the water before drinking.
There are two types of water :
i) The drinking water ii) The water for household works There are different sources of water and are classified as : Natural sources : Rivers , Ponds etc.

Some factories dispose their chemical wastes into the rivers due to which water is polluted. People according to their rituals , throw ashes in water , due to which water is polluted. Due to the lack of education, people dispose the dead bodies also in water bodies , again water is polluted. Due to the excessive use of pesticides, and insecticides our ground water is polluted .
How we can prevent water pollution?
We should organise several programmes to aware people about the cleanliness of water. At school level , we should develop healthy habits in the students, so that they can understand the importance of cleanliness. We should conduct several activities such as plays and skits etc. to aware students about the cleanliness. Court should issue notices to such factories which dispose harmful chemicals in water bodies. We should also aware the factory workers about the safely disposing of harmful chemicals in water bodies. Now , the question is that how can we clean and purify dirty water? The water we dispose in sewage is cleaned and purified by the government in several water treatment plants.
How water is purified in these plants : The dirty water is passed through some parallel bars to remove bigger impurities like polythene bags , fabrics etc. The second step is sedimentation in which comparatively small particles settle down in tank The third step is decantation in which water is separated by the help of a scrapper. The next step is chlorination in which germs are killed by the help of several disinfectants such as ozone , chlorine etc. When the water gets chlorinated it leaves a odour which is then controlled by another process called UV Radiation.
This essay conclude that we should save water because the amount of fresh water on earth is limited. Out of the total area of earth , 75% of the area is covered by water but out of this area only about 2% water is fresh; and even out of this percentage about 1.5%of water is in form of glaciers and 0.3% is groundwater; 0.2% water is usable. Our present Prime Minister Shri Narendra Damodar das Modi has also taken some initiatives such as “Swachh Bharat,Swastha Bharat Abhiyan”. His role in making Indian society aware of the cleanliness and conserving water is significant. CBSE has also initiated a few steps to make the students aware of the cleanliness of the environment and our surroundings .

This literature review will examine previous studies (both qualitative and quantitative) of water sustainability and specific problems related to water quality, such as the build-up of nitrogen in the water supply. The Flint, Michigan water crisis has become a poster child for environmental injustice, environmental racism, and inequitable resource distribution in the United States. It has also represented a case of bleak mismanagement of precious natural resources and the inability of the United States to adequately respond to the most basic human needs. Hydrogeological eport: Lipan Aquifer, Texas Lipan Aquifer in Texas Located in the Lipan Flats area of the counties of Tom Green. western Concho, and southern unnels, the Lipan is a minor aquifer according to classifications of the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) the Lipan aquifer is used primarily for irrigation with limited consumption for livestock and rural domestic purposes (Lee 1986). However, the chemical quality of the Lipan aquifer water does not meet drinking water standards (Lee, 1986). Drinking water may contain radon at rates just above safety levels provided by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Upwards of 125 feet of saturated alluvial deposits of the Leona Formation of Quaternary age make up the aquifer (Lee 1986). Part of the aquifer constitution (see Figure 1.) is comprised of the "updip portions of the underlying dolomites, limestones, and shale of Permian age" (Lee 1986).
